Portobello Garden Arcade | London

The Portobello Garden Arcade
Having a little bit trouble getting out of my hood as you can read.. But the cool thing about London is that there are places coming and (sometimes regretfully) going all the time. So even though you don’t leave your hood doesn’t mean you can’t try new things!! Anyway, discovered this amazing place this month and was blown away by the few things I tried from their menu. The place is owned and run by Italians and you can see, feel, smell and taste this without trouble. “Bongiorno! Hav’e a’e seat’e”  is how I was welcomed. Tucked away behind an arcade on the busy Portobello Road this is the perfect stop to make to refuel and regain your strength! You can have a full Italian lunch, breakfast or dinner, or just have a coffee, a glass of wine or a cookie. I adored the Parmigiana di Melanzane and the cookies they gave me for free when I asked for the bill.

Nama Raw Food London Notting Hill
A little raw food place that just opened in Notting Hill. I’m not usually a massive raw food lover but I like to eat healthy and try new things. This restaurant offers an all day breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, as well as super food juices and healthy snacks. We had the almond pancakes and the falafel wrap which were really good. The good thing is you don’t feel bloated when you leave, I even felt more energised. They serve pizzas & pastas for dinner, the raw way. No wheat, gluten, dairy, meat nor fish. All vegan, raw and with a great taste. 2 notes: I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a hungover brunch, and I think I’d leave my boyfriend home too 😉 Open late on Thursdays & Fridays. 110 Talbot Road | Tube: Westbourne Park | Tel: +44 (0)  207 313 4638 | Website | ££

Polpo Notting Hill | London

Polpo restaurant Notting Hill
One of our favourite restaurants in Central London has now moved to Notting Hill! We can’t be more excited! The location is really great as it’s a 2 mins walk from Notting Hill tube so really easy to meet with friends. The venue itself is quite big, at least at lot bigger than other restaurants by the other Polpo venues. There is a large bar area where you can wait for your table and sip (really good) martini’s. If you don’t know Polpo already, I would describe it as a fun easy going place to go with friends or a date. Their menu is Italian tapas style with lots of simple small plates that you can share. I love it their little Pizzette – mini pizza’s with spinach and parmigiano topping personally.. Polpo doesn’t take reservations for dinner, only for lunch. Good to know: When the sun’s out they have tables outside! 126-128 Notting Hill Gate | Tube: Notting Hill Gate | +4420 7229 3283 | Website | ££

MODE | London

Mode Collective Notting Hill club London
I was happy to hear about this new place – mostly because it’s always good to have a late night option near the home, but also because the space has so much potential and it sounds like these guys are going to try and do something interesting with it. MODE offers a different ‘chapter’ each 6 months, a theme that serves as a base for art installations, food, cocktails and line ups. Chapter one is inspired by the industrial revolution, with an original old church organ as well as a plane hanging in the middle of the space at the moment. I arrived late on a Friday night and thought it looked cool (and different from the Supper Club). The music was a bit too electro for me, it didn’t make me want to dance but I had a good time cocktail drinking at the bar anyway. The owner mentioned they are getting some great artists in, both signed bands as well as new kids on the block, so I’m definitely coming back for some more. It’s £20 each to get in. Acklam Road | Tube: Ladbroke Grove or Westbourne Park | +44208 354 3864 | Website | £££ (Opening hours: Wednesday: 6pm – 11pm, Thursday: 6pm – 1am, Friday: 6pm – 3am, Saturday: 6pm – 3am)

Hillgate Pub | London

The Hillgate Pub Notting Hill LondonA good local pub just off Notting Hill Gate, and not touristy! I have been living in Notting Hill for a couple of years now and only discovered the Hillgate this weekend. It’s a very spacious and charming pub with quite a few outdoor tables. Although I wasn’t blown away by the food, I felt I had to post about their Snug Bar which is their semi-private room for groups of 10-20 (12 max for dinner I would say). I celebrated my birthday on Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it. Good vibe, sweet space, easy going staff and the location is super easy for all the guests (2 mins from Notting Hill tube!) 24 Hillgate Street | +4420 7727 8566 | Website££
